Little Blue Box

I think I am like most girls, when I say I have a healthy appreciation for jewellery. I like fashion jewellery, as it's so guilt free - It costs very little, and you can wear it a couple of times, lose it or get over it in a week and you have lost nothing. BUT I also Loooove the other variety.......The kind that arrives in "The little blue box". This Christmas, I was blown away by hubby's thoughtful choice in gifts by none other than Tiffany & Co. I just love them! And YES, I know I am a lucky girl.

I received my bracelet before Christmas, as we wanted to give our presents early. I told him he was naughty as it was too much.

Then, Christmas morning....  Matching necklace......SPOILT!

If you like these, visit Tiffany & Co, http://www.tiffany.com/ for some eye candy.

A New Little Life

My dear friend gave birth to a beautiful baby girl yesterday. With the flood disaster happening in QLD, there are stories of loss, sadness and hardship, and it is easy to see all the bad, and feel a little jaded at the world. We care for our loved ones, and work so hard for our homes and the lives we create within them.

We are the luckiest people in the world to live here in our amazing country, and we rarely suffer in the ways other countries do, but we know Mother Nature can deal a great blow. This past week will go down in history, and will be a time many will never forget.

I was so pleased to receive the news of the birth of this beautiful baby girl. A brand new life, and absolute perfection. It is the contrast of life isn't it? That amongst devestation, happens a little miracle. That is why we all go on, for our children and our families.

I wish desperately for all those effected to rebuild their lives, and their homes. There will be better days, and there is always something to be thankful for.

Today's favourites: BABY Goodies.

Mood Boards

For any of you who use mood/sample boards for conceptual design, you will love this. Visit www.sampleboard.com to create your own boards for anything from wedding theming to landscaping. You can use it FREE (to a limit), using the existing images/samples on file, or pay $9.99 per month to run wild and use any and everything you can find.

It is far easier than running about town gathering samples (been there got the t/shirt!) and you can get the look you are after in no time. It is a great introduction to show your client your design vision and a prelude to providing actual samples if all goes ahead.

Check out fabrics, wallpapers, lighting, window treatments, flooring, baths and vanities, bench tops, accessories and more.

Have a lovely weekend!
With hubby away for work, I have been reading some of my neglected design mags at bedtime. There are so many beautiful and creative things that give me inspiration. I love all kinds of furniture, and there are certain timeless pieces that I can't see disappearing any time soon. My favourite would have to be the iconic Adirondeck chair. It's wide arm rests make it perfect for resting that afternoon beverage.

You can purchase these in raw timber, but will usually find them in white (my favourite). I just discoved a company that makes a coordinating ottoman, brilliant! Visit www.recycledpolyfurniture.com for a great range of colours.

Runner up is the wingback chair. Although it is technically a period piece, you would be surprised just how at home it looks in a modern space. Perfect for a reading chair, it is one you just have to have in the master bedroom or right by the fireplace. Add a luxurious cushion and it will steal the show. Find this one at The Early Settler www.earlysettler.com.au

And for a modern take....You can find this at http://www.rockettstgeorge.co.uk/

Have a great day!
