All Class by Nacho Polo

I tend to get excited over homes with a great mix of  both vintage and contemporary touches. I also LOVE white. Lots of white. That colour anyone with kids is afraid of, but I just can't get enough of it. I had to post about this amazing apartment, owned by Miami designer, Nacho Polo. My fave is the all WHITE frame wall, and painted floor. A bold move, but it looks so darn good! The period features in this apartment are amazing too.

The Bride

I hope everyone is feeling refreshed today. I have had a greedy 5 days off work, and still feel lethargic somehow?

I blogged a couple of posts ago about my sister's wedding bouquet that I made for her, and thought I would give a quick updaqte of the finished product. This is my sister below on her wedding day. I think she looks so beautiful, very Marylin Monroe don't you think?

Gushing Over Peonies

Peonies… Those gorgeous, full, soft and amazingly romantic blooms that I just cannot get enough of. I only wish I could get married all over in that ever so precious window of the year when they flower. What a stunning creation by nature.

Happy Easter, and have a lovely long weekend x

My First Bouquet Creation

So I got all creative and put together the wedding bouquets for my sister Friday night. I had a few ideas in mind, and like the soft and varied bouquets, but she really wanted simple rose posies. The plan was for ivory roses, however there was a little more variation in the buds than expected. One of the other bridesmaids collected them and assured her that it really didn't matter, and that they would look great anyway.

So, from there, I got to work. The tones ranged all the way from ivory, to a slight green, pink and apricot. I think they will come up nice in the photographs, simple but pretty. OK for a first attempt I think, and she was really happy with them at least.

I would love to experiment more with flower arranging. Maybe something for Mothers Day, which is just around the corner. Does anyone have any special plans for their dear Mum?

Wedding Bouquet Inspiration

I am very excited and happy today. My big sister gets married tomorrow! It brings back all the memories and good feelings I had when I got married, not quite a year ago. I had a very soft and feminine theme to my own wedding, and had the most beautiful flowers, created by Peonies Floral Designer.

The florist did a beautiful job, and mixed a series of ivory, blush and antique roses, with mini buds and freesias...Do you not LOVE the smell of freesias? Here are the bouquets below.

Anyway, the REAL reason I wanted to post today was because of the most creative and unique bouquet I spotted this week. A local girl who was married recently chose a "Garden Tea Party" theme for her wedding! It was absolutely stunning, but for me, the most impressive creation was her bouquet. It was made by a series of BUTTONS! Yes, stems of wire, with buttons all the way along, and in theme of the Garden Tea Party. Here it is.

Can you see the tiny tea cup and saucer?

Isn't is great? I am creating my sisters Rose bouquets this evening for the BIG DAY tomorrow. I will post pics of the finished product soon.

Have a great weekend! x

All things Yellow

I am in love with YELLOW. Just a little yellow...From the pale buttery variety, to show stopping bright canary... This colour does something I like. I fell in love with this dining room from the front cover of Ivy and Piper magazine. The purple really pops against this bright hue, and just adds something extra to this otherwise traditional room.

Designer Jamie Drake said “What could be better than being surrounded by sunshine even on a gray day”. Enough said...
